Today is sapphires birthday(11/21)... Shes 4 years old!!! Despite these past couple weeks, of her waking up in the middle of the night screaming bloody murder like she is being attacked when we have no idea what is going on? First we thought the heater made funny noises, removed heater, hid it, slept fine for two days... then yet again doing the same behavior. Is it my scary siezures at night? is she in pain somewhere? we feed her right before so shes full, sometimes early enough so she can go to the bathroom too. We do a full check of her body, doesn't seem anything is hurting her? we massage her before bed, a gentle brushing she loves! We talk softly, what else? Is it the noise machine, she hates the noise now? we changed the setting, but yet every night she seems so uncomfortable, so upset and we have no idea why!? Is she scared of something? but what? this is the cat who has no fear, who will run straight into water, stand up against people who are huge, attack animals who could easily kill her in a second with one bite, so what could she be possibly be scared of? Yet she is constantly searching through the house like she is being followed or threatened? Why? I wish I just had an answer... just one answer to why?

Roxanne has went through an episode where if sapphire gets too close, she hisses and growls at her, we have no idea why for that either. Our cats have so many personality and mood related problems, their behavior is so hard to read, yet as saps stares into my eyes everyday it is like she is seeking some sort of answer from me, something she is longing to want, but what??? I found out jealously is very common among the cats, roxanne is sleeping on my chest, gosh forbid, so sapphire has to top it and climb further up onto my neck, as they both purr, one look at each other, and a fight may occur randomly. Like their fighting for my love? but why I'm home all the time, I give them both equal amount of love. She hates to be in anybody elses arms, HATEs, screams, bites, scratches like they are torturering her yet instead loving her as much as I do, at most trying to love her even more then I do so she at least acknowledges them.

I get so mad at sapphire, she wakes me up randomly up in the middle of the night again, I'm upset, tired, half awake, half asleep, worn out, I just want to scream at her, but what good does that ever do? Another night lost, another mystery NEVER solved with her. Usually most of my blogs are filled with laughter of how she gets herself into the weirdest situations, but yet this blog is more about the love I have for her. The past 4 years of unimaginable love for her I have, but its so hard, I hate being touched, being constantly clung too, hate when I can't breathe, hate being stared at by her, and love to sometimes just be alone, without any animals by my side, but she challenges constantly challenging each of those things I hate, she loves me what else is to say, a love I cannot figure out. The love where doesn't matter how allergic I am, I let her lay on my face, as she purrs like it is the best thing in the world, does it matter really if I can't breathe, shes happy? There once was a time where doctors said put her down, give her up, she has FIV, heart murmer, tear jerk problem, whole list of problems, but why? because shes less then perfect? It made me love her even more. I didn't care if she didn't live a day, if she was purring, fed, warm, happy and loved, it was all that mattered. That was what drove me to wake in the middle of the night because she cannot get comfortable to rub her head, as she gently presses it against my hand like all she ever needs or wants is love. It is kinda weird how snuggly, lovable she is, she'll cuddle underneath my neck, face, hands, arms, in my lap, ALLL night and day and fight for it too as she stares into my eyes 24/7. I cannot help but love her, and yet on these struggling days where sleep is always hard to find but even harder when you have a cat with many unusual needs, makes life even ten times worth more fighting and loving. What else is to say? Today was one of those moments I always wish could last forever. Napping in the middle of the day, as I try to keep her calm, next to me, relaxed and happy, she stays, she doesn't scream or seem upset, these moments I want to to never end. Theres a moment I turn to lay on my side, shes curled up in a ball in my chest, rocking back and forth(and when I say rocking back and forth, I really mean rocking back and forth, she loves to rock especially when she purrs[one day I'll get a video of her doing]) purring non-stop, as I rub her little leg she stretches it closing her eyes so softly. Its such a warm and happy feeling, like shes safe, and the love is so pure. I'm struggling to breathe, or move, as shes pressed all her weight to try to keep me still and so I don't move, I'm becoming agitated as I'm sweating, then she rubs her head against my palm of my hand, gently rubbing her little nose into it, as she continues rocking, purring, she gently presses her lips to my hands, and then continues rocking, as Roxanne notices and attempts to join, they both lay there, as Roxanne, purrs like a loud motor, staring into the unknown, sapphire purring, rocking, scopes out the entire room, pressing her body more against mine. Its so unreal, I sound like I'm writing a novel ha-ha, or a love story in this post ha-ha, yet its just another post about my very unique kitty! We survived another nap without any upsetness, progress, is progress, even if its little :).

Today she is 4(11/21), and I hope many many many more years come and go, many more blog posts filled with laughter, shock, weirdness and love to share. I'm so lucky and so proud to have her in my life. Heres to you, my sweet, special, sapphire. Happy Birthday!!!

All I have to say is... WHY and WTF???

Another day, another time I wish I understand why sapphire is the way she is. She has to be bipolar, autistic, OCD, you name it, has to be something!!! if only i had an answer, just a quick answer to my most challenging questions as to WHYYYYY?

Out of nowhere last week, she refused to sleep in my room, also refused to sleep anywhere else then my room, panickly meowing and howling like she was in a horror film, scratching, franctically trying to get in and out, from both sides of the door. What choice do I have? i mean shes already almost tore her way through two doors in the house from scratching, chewing and tearing apart the door piece by piece. Alread knows how to open cabinets and find EVERY single baggy there is known to man in a cabinet, along with different foods or different items in those baggies that she eats and somehow leaves piles of throw up around the house(its like hmm guess she found another little baggy with more little goodies that she didn't like againn). Or the time we werent home, and my brother came home finding her dangle upside down from the shade string wrapped around her tail almost breaking her tail of the window, we really dont know how long she was hanging, but lots of blood, and possibly a fractured tail but she wouldn't let anybody near her tail for awhile, and eventually it did heal. My brother had to cut her down, at the same time fight for his life as she was trying to attack him, how does one get their tail wrapped up in a cord so tightly like that and end up, upside down, who knows? We just know she can lead to some dangerous situations when not watched. We had to put her in another room away from my room because of her howling but when she is upset she attacks the other animals, and other humans in the house, or rips apart the couches and eats the insides or pillows, or blankets, or knockes everything off the tables and counters(yes isnt she a doll to have around hehe). So we had to put her in a cage and covered it with blankets, felt so horrible doing it, but what else is there to do, she is and was always a danger to herself, the house and others. It was terrible., but had to be done. Then I had to quickly try to figure out why all of a sudden, these episodes happen randomly out of nowhere, hense thinking she may be bipolar. She also has no fear, so what could be going on. I also have to say she has been angrier then usual, meaning attacking our older cat, roxanne who is 11 and a half now, even going after me and jim. Our dog stays clear of her, because he is in absolute fear of her, probably of all cats now after seeing her randomly, could be out noise, sudden voice changes, anything can trigger her behavior, where her eyes go pitch black, her nails go stay straight out, her muscles look like their bulging and she has to attack. Meaning full of biting, hissing, scratching, swatting, and not just one hit, on and on and on until the victim is either bleeding or cornered, if then she'll lay there as their cornered to watch them shake in fear. Issues? yes she has plenty of them haha.

Anyways had to figure out why now, why all of a sudden? she has food, water, clean kitty litter, maybe we all talk in soft tones, and give her a nice brush down? before bed? some snacks perhaps? worked for about 5 minutes and then shes back to her out stunts. This is the same cat who will hunt you down doesnt matter where you are or what you are doing, will hunt, attempt to knock down doors, attack any animal in her sight, just for what? maybe fresh water and shes fine. Most cats just meow, not her. Well nothing worked, i thought well awhile ago, my heater sparked in the middle of the night, nothing abnormal, but maybe it triggered unwanted behavior? She scopes out my room like shes searching for a pin in a haystack, literally every corner every night, every chance she gets, smelling, licking, looking, every night and moment she can get in there matter of fact. So we unplugged the heater, and hid it. Since past couple nights she won't stay in my room, and had to be put in cage, again felt horrible for it, i moved the older cat up towards from my feet to my middle of my legs(love extra weight), where saps usually sleeps. We bring her in last night hoping maybe a change? maybe shes calmer? maybe she'll actually stay? well unexpectantly, she bolts from our arms literally bolts like shes jumping out of a plain, almost attacks roxanne, eyes pitch black, puts all her strenght into almost clobbering poor roxanne as she is all of a sudden ambushed, after scaring everything out of roxanne, she lays on my chest further up the bed, to make her point she wants her spot back! We move roxanne, well mainly because knowing from experience after awhile they fight on the bed, meaning sapphire gets randomly angry, and attacks roxanne and she defends herself, scary stuff when blood is shed, and hair is flying and sapphire looks literally out of the exorcist movie with her eyes black, her head almost spinning i swear. We moved roxanne to the feet, saps moved to the legs. All well ends well. She slept through the night, no problems. So proud of her, felt so guilty putting in a cage, was it the heater, have no idea, will find out if i get the same success tonight.

Later though today, we also found out, sapphire likes garlic spinach!!! I love spinach, so im eating it, and walk away, there saps is, wherever there is food, there is saps, wherever there is me, there is saps, wherever there is noise or anything i guess you could say weird, there is saps. She first takes her paw, wipes it on the spinach, licks the paw. Then the slow walk towards the bowl, she starts licking it, gets some spinach in her mouth, eats it, chews it better then i do(i usually choke), its in her stomach. She ate spinach ok, this is weird for most, but i guess normal for us? Then she comes back for more, this time grabbing both a spinach piece and a garlic piece with her mouth and paw i must add, and puts it on the table. Quickly analyzes it, then seperates the two with her paw(only if i had a video camera attached to her head or mine to just catch this unsuaul behavior i'd publish a movie on her haha), then eats first garlic chunk, then the spinach chunk, she is finished, cleans her paws, takes a sip of pink lemonade and is on the prowl for the next moment "in the wierdest cat of all time" situation she could get herself into. Yes i do mean pink lemonade, and of course out of my cup, has to be anything revolving around me... Another one of those WTF, and WHY, moments that nobody can explain nor understand! I still love her no matter what, speaking of which so, her birthday is coming soon, she will be 4, im hoping old age catches up with her soon?? maybe?? is that possible?? :)

The except to every rule!

Saps is literally the exception to every rule... Rules of a cat, must sleep throughout the day, very independant in a sense their off doing their own thing and only come to visit when hungry or want something like maybe affection, loves to play with strings, cat toys, loves to scratch things, you know a typical cat what their like if you don't, there is so many books on what to expect when getting a cat hehehe. Something I wasn't expecting was "saps" the a-typical cat. The cat who has seperation anxiety, who screams, meows, and cries for hours when I leave the room or house, who greets me at the door, then tries to run out the door, then tries to run towards the water(dont cats hate water???), who pees in the sink, has 6 inch whiskers yes we measured them, who has to be constantly by my side, will pick straws or tin foil balls over actual cat toys, who while most cats spend their time laying in boxes, she loves to jump in and out of boxes over and over and over again annnd sooo much more. How did I manage to get this unique cat, dont ask me, but she does mesh well with my family :).

Well i have to say its never a dull moment, since last post lots of interesting stuff happened, i cant recall all of it, just pieces, of course she attacked the dog, one time because well somebody dropped something, must have startled her, so why not attack the dog, i'm guessing thats what goes through her mind. Another time my mother made a loud pitch shock noise from watching something on tv, saps once again got startled didn't like the noise, attacked the dog. Poor dog has severe anxiety issues due to it all. The cat has once again every single second of the day is either laying by me, laying on me, sitting next to, sitting around me, and during all those times she is literally staring me down 24/7, like i'm so interesting to watch? i dont know, she has an unusual obsession with being my shadow, literally. Or when people are over and my typical cat is trying to stay away as much as possible while she is screaming to be by people, unfortunely the one person is deathly allergic to cats, so we try to keep saps in a room because roxanne usually jsut ignores the entire world while saps has to be involved and in peoples face 24/7 so we have to keep her away from people, especially people allergic to cats. Which is not a good idea when you have a cat who will claw her way out to get where she needs to go, literally claw her way out, we have the door holes to prove it. Well i thought since she is screaming and when she screams it actually sounds like words such as (owwww, helllo, hiiiiiiii) well maybe shes gotta get a drink of water or wants a straw ya know some sort of company since she has seperation anxiety, no of course she runs out towards the one guy who is deathly allergic to her, to walk up and sit in front of him to stare at him, yes must we all ask why? i dont know, why was she curious about him when there was another person new in the house too, was it because he was a guy? or did she actually know he was allergic? who knows, got her a straw, and she kept busy making sure to keep one eye on me at all times. Finally the guy started getting sick had to put her away, later on letting her out, her eyes were huge and boy was she angry, first victim the dog, thankfully nothing happened and she continued her daily routine of staring me down 24/7. Now she has weirder moments that makes me just wonder whyyyyyyyyyyy? really whyyyyy?

For instance she has a weird obsession with feet, HAS to smell peoples feet, like HAS to, and if nobodys feet are around to smell, what does a foot fetish cat do? go to the draw of socks near the floor, sticks her head in the huge amount of clean(maybe some dirty who knows) socks, and sits there sniffing for about 2-3minutes, can you say whyyy?? i dont know i really just dont know what to say about that but if their clean her she just continues her day if they smell she has to sit there for another 2-3 minutes with her mouth open and eyes squinting, gotta love a cat with facial expressions haha. Heres another moment I just wish I could explain, most cats can be left alone do their own thing, yes they all do crazy things and get into weird or suspicious situations but not saps her situations are alittle too "rare" i guess you could say for a cat. The other day I caught her eating something off the floor, now this cat eats anything, when i say anything, lets put it this way, if its on the floor and she can get it in her mouth, its most likely in her mouth haha. Well I was curious considering i know she has problems eating and picking up food consideirng her tongue doesnt move right, what is she trying to eat? another bug again? nope, instead she was trying to eat a needle, yes i said it right, a freaking "needle"!!!! you know like a needle and thread type of needle, like idk how or where she got that from, but why would you eat that? Oh wait it gets better, later that week, I heard choking, now choking is normal in our house, i do it, and both the cats do it, has to be genetics lol, anyways it wasnt my older cat, because more then likely she is sleeping, and of course she was and it wasn't me, had to be miss saps. I'm looking all around, behind my mothers door, there she is, with a ribbon a long ribbon like i would have to say 12 inches, that was once wrapped around a pillow, was almost all the way down her throat!!! My gosh, and there she is choking still trying to swallow it, can you guess that i knew she was hungry, no who meows these days to want food, no instead i'm going to be saps and eat random objects that make no sense to hopefully point out i'm starving, as i sit here choking on it.,, like omgosh. I pulled it out of her throat, full of spit, and try to coax her to her food, but since its not her usual type of food, gosh forbid, she refuses to eat, right back to exploring new edible things i shouldnt even say edible but to her anything is edible. Eventually id id get her to eat cat food. These are the days that make me feel Sapphire, is literally the exception to every rule, even when it comes to cats!!!

First post of the new year!!!

So its been sooooooooooo long since I blogged, so much has happened, so little time to post. Roxanne is now a healthy and steady 15 lbs, yayay for roxannie hehe. She still is the typical anti-social, lazy, sleeping most of her life away type of cat, except for her eating habits(chokes on her food, and her tongue doesnt pick up the food right idk why) and her weird bizarre behavior of not wanting to poop in a circle shaped kitty litter box, only square, thats still a mystery! Sapphire is still the craziest cat ever and is now 9.2lbs. So far we've noticed she does these attacking others including me if I scream, yell, or even raise my tone of voice at all, she will either meow louding then me, run up to my face and put her lips against mine, or attack me, I usually stop before any of that happens, but also does these crazy behaviors if she is hungry, kitty litter is dirty or shes cranky for some reason. Oh did i ever mention, don't ever hyperventilate or breathe hard or physically fight or for that matter sing high tones she will attack you! Also the door bell rings, she goes after the dogs, poor dogs I really don't know how they live, as they both live in fear.

Saps has gotten me still very puzzled, as I've got some interesting videos are some of her newest behaviors. She can open a plastic zip lock baggy, holding her paw on one side and pulling the other side with her mouth to open it, how?? i dont honestly know where and how she learns this! I hope to add that video one day soon, when i do, ill go in more detail about that situation! If you've read the other stories on the blog, you'd know what i'm talking about when it comes to my crazy saps. If not i suggest you read up, because itll scare you on how wierrrd and pyscho she is. If veternarians could diagnosis cats with disorders or disabilities, she'd prob have autism, bi-polar, displaced anger syndrome, ocd, seperation anxiety, oh the list goes on! She is the anti social cat, except shes not a fraid of people instead loves to be around but just stares, at everybody, and tries to eat their food out of their mouths, not good for company! The other day she freaked out and attacked our other cat, whew that was bad why? my mother raised her voice! She also never lets me out of her sight, kinda creepy owl like too, staring from every corner of the house. Anyways besides her weird behaviors as i hope you already know, if not, don't keep reading, go scroll down and catch up, haha.

Her newest behavior is peeing in the sink. Now this would be weird if it was random or if something is wrong like maybe kitty litter was dirty or blocked right? No she only does it if somebody else is peeing or pooping also, she literally opens the door, looks at the person, goes "MM" then jumps up on the sink, squats down and pees(don't worry still only poops in the kitty litter, but it does make me wonder about maybe toilet training her, hmmm the possibilities!). Now I quickly did all the reading up, is she mad? hungry? kitty litter dirty? blocked? too much going on? whats with this and out of no where! One day I have to say, she loves to watch us in the bathroom, like watching the whole wiping part too, and loves to watch the toilet flush, but it became from watching to literally obsessing about it, pretty soon guess she figured well, I want to pee in here too? so theres a sink, and it has a drain, why not try it!? right? Well she doesn't pee anywhere in the sink just right in the middle right where the drain is, like how does she know this? doesn't wipe her feet always just pees and waits until we wash it out as she literally stares us down as we do it, make sure its clean then does the "MM" sound and leaves the room when were done. The routine is now, go to the bathroom, sit on toilet, watch door slowly open(yes shes learned to open cabinets, some doors, and is even know to literally claw her way through doors[scary strong]), watch saps look at you for a second, watch her jump on sink, watch her squat and do her business in sink, wipe yourself, flush, watch saps watch you flush, then wash out sink, watch saps watch you wash out sink, wash hands, watch saps lick her paws, open door, watch saps bolt out of the door and continue her crazy antics. So i had to video tape it, i just had to, to show the world, not only does my cat have issues and is extremely smart and fast, shes got new habits now. So just so everybody knows, we don't allow this or want this to happen, but when were on the toilet exact time, its a bit hard to shoo her off, because she ignores when we hiss most of the time, and spraying her with water makes her attack you or the dogs, but I found a moment to bring my cell to video it, enjoy!

So did I ever mention having saps means no dull moment?

Ok so heres the scenerio tonight...

Mother has pumpkin pie, calling if anybody wants food, cat nicely sitting away in cardboard box she made home, as adhd dog runs knocks over pie, mother screams of upset her fav pie gone, cat runs out of box, attacks adhd dog. We all run in wondering who got attacked, who is bleeding and if anything is okay? i walk by older dog, she slips falls makes a lot of noise, cat attacks adhd dog again, then mother puts foot up to block the adhd dog and cat so no more blood is shed, mothers foot begins to get swatted at. After calmness circles the house, cat runs in room where we are watching a movie, licks bag of carrots, then rubs her face on carrot bag over and over, then jumps on lap steals a sour cream and onion chip, runs down to floor to eat it, chokes a couple times, finishes chip, goes back to lay on carrot bag as she rubs her face in it again. Fast forward to maybe half hour later, cat runs out of room, went missing, where was she found, when somebody had to use the bathroom, their she was drinking from the toilet, making mmm noises. Fast forward again refuses to leave while in bathroom, obsessively rubs her face and body against rug, tile floor, and side of toilet, eyes get black, eats the magazine, while spinning herself in circles upside down. After that, fast forward again, cat steals straw from drink, eats pieces of straw leaves the evidence all around the cardboard box as she eyes down adhd dog. adhd dog shakes, is afraid to walk by her. This is quite normal for us, and for her, weird for all the readers, but normal for us lol...

This cat has torn apart this chair not to jus scratch but instead eat the insides of it why idk? she eats everything dont ask me why, think this cat has pica lol. Let me be the first to say if ur bored at 3am and wanna play hide and go seek, come visit us, she runs hits ur leg to let u know shes hiding u run in the dark after her and she jumps out scares u and runs away again, her fav spot is the jacuzzi, if u dont participate she attacks u, creepy eh? did i mention she stills runs like shes being attacked herself full speed ahead knocking everything off while since her hairy palms are of course too long she has no grip so she slides and does burn outs everywhere all while every now and then getting her head stuck under the fridge or somehow getting her whole self stuck in the fridge or drawer for that matter, how? dont ask me...yep never a dull moment with her.

This is the same cat vets told us to put her down cuz of his illness, that she wouldnt live long and its a waste to have her in the house or alive. I'm soo freaking happy to say---She turned 3 this past saturday November 21, 2009!!! WHOOP, WHOOP, keeping her strong hehe and of course keeping her "extremely disturbing at times" personality always so known :)!!! i thank the lord everyday i can blog about something so unique, so creepy, so incredibly weird, but also so mine hehehe.

So I havent been posting in awhile, but that doesnt mean saps hasnt got herself into some pretty weird incidents that make me wonder what is going on inside her head hahaha, just means im so busy lately but dont worry more stories will to come hehehe.

I will post more on that soon, but for now I got two videos of her, to show only minor proof how weird and psycho she is.

First video is how she attacks anybody if your too loud, too much going on, too much ppl, etc. Before this video i was freaking out screaming and she came after me, so i stopped, then my was mimicking me and she ran after him and bit his nose, he quickly stopped. So i thought wait we need to take a video of this to prove to the world shes psycho lol, so i made a lot of loud noises, and you can see her eyes go straight black, and then attack me. We took another video of this, but it somehow got deleted(ugh it was longer and better too) but im sure were get more videos in the future hopefully.... The Second video is of saps rolling around on a towel, which may seem sometimes normal to people but.. she does this everywhere for even hours ive caught her doing this anywhere even on random ppls coats or purses that visit, so on a scale of her weird factor i give it a 1 out of 10 compared to what she usually does but this video also shows how cute she is haha.... the strange adventures jus keep happening...

So today this is another day ill mark down on the weird factor with saps, i heard a lot of jumping, now this cat can jump, and she gets bored and energy, it can get crazy, anyways i heard a lot of jumping ignored it thought she was jumping at a bug. Finally hear something open down the hallway, im like wtf, so i run down the hallway, which as im running, i see her run towards me then around me as fast as she can, i turn to look she jumped up 4ft and open the thermostat, and somehow pushed a button, like r u serious? nothing got too messed up, but what in hell why would a cat jump at a thermostate anyways? to push the buttons? where does she get these ideas from? how in heck did she open it, after two jumps? how can a cat be so smart? This had to go in the record books as weirrrrd.

Did i mention she has the dogs wrapped between her fingers, all she does is walk by them and they quiver, today she got upset with my yelling ran over and meowed louder then me, then as i lowered my voice she jumped on my lap and put her mouth agaisnt mine to make sure i shut up, and then of course ran to find one of the dogs who were both in different corners of the house hiding, and scratched their faces lol, like wtf? why? shes upset gotta take it out on them? i dont know!!! Right now shes playing fetch with her little tin foil ball, meowing through the house. ITs the only thing to do to keep her sane, and happy and if i dont play fetch with her, she rips apart the ball in tiny pieces then goes to peel wall papers, cling on the chandelear, or my fav climb the windows as she digs her nails to put holes in the windows purposely ive watched this, as i caught her in the act, she runs and shes fast! I have to keep her busy and active, have to, or she throws a tantrum sorta haha.

On good news, my older cat who is 10, has been on a special RD diet for awhile now, is now almost down to 15lbs(the same cat who was once tipping 25lbs), who use to only sleep in the living room not caring if anybody walked by her or, if there was a fire she'd be sleeping, rarely saw her unless it was dinner time, slept a good 17 hours out of the day, seemed grouchy, aloof, and basically a lump... but now runs to my room to sleep with me, jumps on my bed, runs after tin foil balls, plays with strings, jumps through chairs, on top of tables, washers, counters, etc, and is starting to welcoming me when i walk in the house, its a miracle! And when she runs, she sounds like a rhino hahaha, its funny, i got my kitten saps who is like a fox with this unusually long bushy tail thats always up in the air with fox like speed, and my older cat who you can hear walking down the hallway a mile away haha shes got lead feet, shes far from dainty haha, while saps has such hairy feet u never know where she is, she'll even climb up behind the couch and slap u in the face, i know its happened to me a couple times, this kitten plays good hide and seek hahaha. well anyways til next time, adios!
